I listened to a sample of GA3 on Steinberg's website, and it sounded pretty good, but I don't know how the hell they could have used GA's built-in sounds to make it sound like that. Groove Agent combines the creative power of three different rhythm modules: the Acoustic, Beat and Percussion Agents. Anyway when I set from the Inspector the GA3 to use drum map, that drum map (GM map initially) doesn’t have all the sounds available via the GA3 (when clicking every note in the drum editor window, some samples are missing). Sure, they can be tweaked with, but they will never be in the same league as Battery's. I have Groove Agent 3 and I’ve used my own samples in it to make a 27 piece drum-set. As I mentioned in my first post, the quality of Groove Agent's sounds, at least in default mode, really suck. After importing the MIDI file as a separate track into Sonar, all the proper information was in the track, and I was able to plug in other drums sounds. OK, the Save MIDI output to File option in Groove Agent 3 worked in Sonar 7. Certainly a good plug to help you lay down quickly some drum tracks. To my taste, groove agent has good samples and it sounds very musically to me. You should try the software or listen to its samples before you decide which one to buy. You will certainly not be happier if you buy battery 3 just because some sonar users use it. There was a vst wrapper which was able to do that. Regarding the midioutput function: it works in cubase because cubase can recieve midi data from a vst and record the events on a miditrack.ĭon't know if sonar does the same. There you can find a dedicated Groove Agent forum. At least one can hear some of the styles and how the drums sound. There are demosongs and demovideos on steinbergs website. It functions as a VST Plugin, an Audio Units Plugin and a DirectX Plugin. So what? Which product from Cakewalk is comparable to GA?
